So what do you DO at Alight?
I build models that use clients’ data to find insights that are hiding beneath the surface. We can help them better understand trends in historical data and predict the future.
What did you do before you came to Alight?
I’ve spent the last 8+ years as a student at K-State. First as an undergraduate in physics and then as a Ph.D. student working in high energy physics. I’m finally completely finished with school, and it feels good!
What do you like to do when you aren’t at work?
Since the start of COVID, I’ve gotten into baking bread and pastries (thanks, “Great British Bake Off”) and running to account for all the extra pastries I now eat. I love playing board games with my friends and spending time with my wife and cats.
We’re putting you in Witness Protection. What’s your new name, where do you live, and what do you do for a living?
I would live in the Scottish Highlands and be a historian. I’d spend most of my time reading, drinking coffee and keeping a low profile. My new name would be Fergus McScott.
What’s your favorite snack?
Mike and Ikes. There’s no competition.
We’re forcing you to live inside your favorite TV show for a week, Pleasantville-style. What show are you in, and what’s your role?
I’d be in “The Good Place” and, hopefully, I’d just be another resident learning ethics and doing my thing. There aren’t too many good roles in the show to pick from …
