Google Analytics Unveils New ‘Intelligence’ Feature for On-The-Fly Questions

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could simply ask Google Analytics a question? The same way you pose a query to Google Search?

Good news: Google has launched a new tool inside Analytics that lets you do just that. You can find this new “Intelligence” feature in GA’s app and its desktop version.

If you go into a GA report, you’ll see a button in the top right corner that says “Intelligence.” (One caveat: The feature is in beta, so not all users may have access to it yet.)

Click the button, and you’ll see a search box that lets you ask a question.

For example, we asked “What was the trend of sessions month over month?” and Google Analytics displayed the chart below.

Here’s the amazing thing: Month-over-month growth isn’t part of GA’s default reports. Google appears to be performing dynamic calculations on the fly. And that’s pretty cool.
